To the Road Less Traveled
This is a year of much traveling for me. Earlier this year I visited Alaska interior, New York, Joshua Tree National Park, and multiple trips to Bay Area, but just now I've come back from another major road trip (1000 miles!) along the Eastern Sierra.
The colour of autumn is a rare sight to most Californians lived west of the Sierra Nevada mountains, where it is evergreen and feels like summer throughout the year. Not on the other side though, autumn comes and turns leaves yellow. The Californian fall foliage probably isn't comparable to the east coast but it is refreshingly scenic. To begin posting photos of this new series, I've picked this title because it means exactly what it says -- a lesser frequently traveled route with many pretty scenes. This photograph was taken as I was leaving the very first attraction. Usually I would hurry on to the second stop, I couldn't help but pause to take a shot of this amazing view. With the mildly snowy Sierra Nevada mountains in the backdrop, the empty road and the yellow sign provided the necessary foreground for a great photo. So, let the journey begins!
