Milky Way

Besides the unfair competition between the E100VS vs Fujifilm X-Trans sensor, I also tested the Fujifilm's claim on their superb high ISO capability. Originally I only wanted to shoot star trails with the film, but another photographer pointed out the milky way was quite visible and showed me its whereabouts.

Desert or Paradise?

Even though Joshua Tree is a "desert" National Park, it is so beautiful inside that I thought I have come to a paradise instead. Situated are the desert plants sustaining the high temperature and they show strong will to survive in such harsh environment. It's so deserted yet so full of life at the same time. Judging by this photo, what is it gonna be -- desert or paradise?

After shooting overhead the 110 freeway and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, I cruised over the Little Tokyo for dinner. Seeing that the Kula got a long waiting list, I explored the Japanese Village for other options.

Since I bought the Fujifilm X-Pro1, I haven't got the time to shoot extensively with it. Instead of shopping on Black Friday, I spent the evening testing out the new camera.

Chasing Butterfly... Again

My photographic obsession over butterflies continues in L.A. Arboretum. Despite the rather warm fall season, there were quite a few butterflies near the entrance. Unlike the last few times, these butterflies were extremely difficult to have their beauty captured as they wouldn't stay still, until this one became cooperative enough.

Meyberg Waterfall

In my honest opinion, the Meyberg Waterfall is generally overrated. They call it a waterfall, but it is far smaller than a waterfall one would expect. Nonetheless, it is one of the favourite photography spots in the L.A. Arboretum because it is a miniature version of any spectacular, famous waterfall, without the crazy fees and crowdedness.
