Yucca brevifolia, more commonly known as Joshua tree, is native to southwestern North America in the states of California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada. They are confined mostly in the Mojave Desert as I have personal seen a forest of them in both Joshua Tree National Park and Cima Dome of Mojave National Preserve.
Surviving the hottest days in the desert, these plants can live for hundreds of years; however, the age of these plants cannot be easily determined because its trunk lacks annual growth rings. Only those who have been and seen the Joshua trees can truly appreciate its existence in the ecosystem.Emulsion: Kodak Ektachrome E100VS
