Kelso Dunes

When I first planned to visit the Mojave National Preserve (in route to Las Vegas), I didn't know what to expect. After all, it was just part of the route which I'd spend no more than 5 hours. Looking at the park map didn't help much neither, as there are only 1-2 must-see spots.
For whatever reason, I'm quite fascinated with sand dunes. The first one I saw was the Mesquites Sand Dunes in Death Valley National Park, where I had a fantastic star trail shot. The Kelso Dunes look seemingly small at the trail head, but they stretch almost endlessly as one drives away from it. Due to time constraint, I couldn't make it to the top of a dune and had to turn around about 10-15 minutes into the dunes. However, photo opportunities were plenty and I couldn't resist spending 1/3 roll of that Ektachrome here.
